Help Network Steps Up

YOUNGSTOWN — Help Network of Northeast Ohio experienced several milestones in 2023 that allowed it to make a critical impact, the organization says.

Help Network administers the 988 Crisis & Suicide Hotline and the 211 Community Services Hotline. Last year witnessed increased use of the 988 line and an increase in direct services for veterans, the homeless, seniors, individuals with disabilities, and others.

One of the key factors in the successful launch of the national 988 Hotline was Help Network’s collaboration with the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. With its assistance, Help Network added 18 new staff members.

Other programs such as the Family Success Network, which helps households with issues such as financial literacy and transition to independent living, also responded to growing needs.
