Hively Builds Family Legacy

CANFIELD – Hively Construction is the dream and legacy of founder Lee R. Hively Jr.

Three generations of his family now work at the Canfield-based company.

The business was started in 1986 by Hively. He was working for another construction company at the time and decided to take the plunge into entrepreneurship.

Hively borrowed his initial investment from his parents, Dorothy and Lee R. Hively Sr., and would go on to become one of the most successful general contractors in the region.

The company has grown into a diverse business, offering design-build construction as well as pre-engineered metal buildings, commercial, institutional and recreational construction.

The company’s employees have also found a home with Hively. These include Bryan Horne, who has been with Hively since 1995, and has helped the company grow.
