YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County (PLYMC) is a great place to work because we live our mission every single day: We connect with, inspire, and enrich the lives of our patrons across the Valley.

We serve as a community connection — a hub for people of all backgrounds to come together to access information, whether in the form of books, technology, or a program with a trusted expert. Libraries serve every member of our community, and PLYMC is proud to be an organization that is welcoming to all.

Throughout our 15 library branches across the Mahoning County, our nearly 180 employees get to know our patrons, and in turn, they us.

Working in a library like PLYMC brings a sense of purpose, community, and connection to the workplace. In addition to the intrinsic value of our work, our staff enjoy a work/life balance with paid time off, paid sick leave and paid federal holidays. We participate in a pension plan with OPERS, and we offer a health care plan, as well as other employee benefits like a wellness program and continuing education opportunities.

PLYMC believes in the dignity of work and in being an organization that values the hard work that our employees do on behalf of our communities every day. Our employees are what make PLYMC such a valued community institution, and we are hiring. If you are a mission-centric individual who loves serving your community, contact us and let us know why you’d be a great fit for the PLYMC team.
