Thompson Insurance Grows Across All Divisions

Vice President, Thompson Insurance Group

GIRARD – Thompson Insurance Group, a family-owned agency based in Girard, last year celebrated its 76th year of doing business in the Mahoning Valley.

The company’s personal lines business, The Gibson Agency, experienced expansion with 11.2% growth. PetBizInsurance.com, Thompson’s niche subsidiary specializing in coverage options for pet businesses across the nation, recorded 16.6% growth. And Gibson Agri Equine Insurance closed out the year with a growth rate of 22.1%.

Throughout 2023, The Gibson Agency maintained its commitment to philanthropy and the community.

On July 28, the agency hosted its annual community appreciation day. Gibson held a food drive leading up to the event, collecting 851 pounds of food and $312 in donations for the Second Harvest Food Bank of The Mahoning Valley. In August, staff members took part in the Panerathon, with Gibson’s fundraising team raising more than $1,000. To close out the year, Thompson held its annual “Photos with Santa” event with a toy donation drive benefiting the Warren Family Mission.

In the face of the challenging economic landscape marked by rising inflation and supply-chain issues, the staff of Thompson Insurance Group was able to better assist policyholders in minimizing potential rate increases.

This was achieved by providing personalized recommendations for specific coverages, optimizing the use of available discounts and keeping clients informed about industry trends. This approach ensured that policyholders could align their insurance policies more effectively with current needs and circumstances.

Anticipating both challenges and exciting opportunities in 2024, Thompson Insurance Group, eagerly awaits the implementation of a new agency management system. The new system will offer a diverse range of advanced service options to fulfill clients’ needs.
