YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Youngstown City School District and nine of its schools will be honored Jan. 31 by the Ohio Leadership Advisory Council at the 2023 Ohio Positive Behavioral Interventions Support Showcase.
YCSD will receive the district recognition award and these schools will be recognized for improving student outcomes: Choffin Career & Technical Center, East High School, East Middle School and Volney Rogers Elementary.
“YCSD has embedded within all of our schools the importance of providing a positive environment and educational excellence,” says Superintendent Jeremy Batchelor.
Positive Behavioral Interventions Support is a data-driven model that builds on the component of developing relationships. The framework guides school teams in selecting, integrating and implementing evidence-based practices for improving academic, social and behavioral outcomes.
