Artists Sought for Project at WRTA Headquarters
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Mahoning Commons Association is searching for an artist to transform the wire fence lining the WRTA headquarters on Mahoning Avenue.
The project will incorporate 27,750 inserts to be placed in the metal fence. The winner, chosen by members of the association, will be awarded an $850 cash prize.
Those interested in submitting proposals area required to attend an informational meeting at The Soap Gallery, 117 Champion St., Aug. 22 7 to 8 p.m.
Funding for the art project comes from the Raymond J. Wean Foundation’s Neighborhood Success Program. Youngstown CityScape is providing coordination assistance.
