Assumption Village Among Nation’s Best Nursing Homes
NORTH LIMA, Ohio – Mercy Health’s Assumption Village has been named of the country’s best nursing homes by Newsweek in its annual Best Hospital issue.
The publication recognized just 406 nursing homes nationwide after evaluate some 15,000. Sites were ranked on data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid – among the categories were health inspections, staffing and quality measures – as well as rankings from medical experts.
“Our residents have always been at the core of what we do,” said Melessa Scattino, executive director of Mercy Health’s long-term care division, in a statement. “Providing an environment that emphasizes both healing and dignity is what allows us to extend our mission and provide expert-level, compassionate care.”
Assumption Village, 9800 Market St. in North Lima, has 150 beds and offers skilled rehabilitation, long-term care and dementia care.
“We are proud of this designation as it’s a testament to the clinicians and staff working not only at that facility, but throughout the Youngstown ministry,” said Dr. John Luellen, president of Mercy Health-Youngstown.
In total, 14 nursing homes in Ohio made the list, with Menorah Park in Beachwood topping the list. Newsweek’s full list can be found here.
