Mahoning Valley Auto Sales Dip Slightly in May
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Auto sales in the tri-county area slipped in May, according to data from the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers Association, as 4,973 new and used cars were sold, 10 fewer than May 2018.
New-car sales in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties totaled 2,840 in May, up a dozen from last year. Meanwhile, used-car sales totaled 2,075, down 20.
Leading new car sales was Greenwood Chevy, Austintown, with 230; Sweeney Chevrolet, Boardman, 200; Boardman Subaru, Boardman,157; Stadium GM Superstore, Salem, 154; and Taylor Kia of Boardman, 119.
Taylor Kia topped the used-car sales chart with 117, followed closely by Greenwood Chevy with 113.
Three area dealerships ranked in the top 10 for combined new and used sales across the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers Association’s 22-county membership area. Greenwood Chevrolet ranked third with 361 vehicles sold, Sweeney Chevy was No. 6 with 289 and Taylor Kia of Boardman was ninth with 250.
