Avrem Technologies Moves into Canfield HQ

CANFIELD, Ohio – Avrem Technologies began 2018 with a flurry of activity and kept a pace that rarely let up, CEO Robert Merva says.

In January, the IT and cybersecurity consulting firm moved some of its operations to its new headquarters in Canfield and began renovations of the building on Starr Centre Drive. Among the upgrades were building a kitchen and employee lounge, a network operations center, a security operations center and secured server room and a workshop.

“We had to rewire the building from scratch to ensure it fit with our needs now and into the future. We were able to move the entire Avrem team in March and have been loving the new space since,” Merva says. This year the company will finish the lobby and create a new reception area and conference room.

Avrem Technologies offers strategic IT planning, network and physical security consulting and compliance management.

Avrem added three employees over the course of the year: Andrew Austalosh as office and finance manager, Greg Socciarelli as information manager and Mark Thorn as voice and data specialist.

“These changes were possible in part due to our strong financial performance the last few years,” Merva says. 2018 revenue was double that of 2017, which in turn doubled that of 2016.

By the end of this year, Merva expects to hire at least two more Level 1 technicians and further emphasize continuing education. Current staff members have chosen training-related goals for 2019 and the company has invested in IT training programs.

“We understand technology can be frustrating, confusing and problematic, and we want to make sure our clients have the exact opposite experience when they work with us,” the CEO says. “We instead want a primary focus of our company culture to be around developing the most qualified and knowledgeable employees we can find because it translates to better results for our clients.”
