Bake Me Treats Promotion to Benefit Rescue Mission

POLAND, Ohio – In recognition of National Cupcake Day, local bakery Bake Me Treats, 16 S. Main St., will have a promotion to benefit the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley.

For every cupcake purchased at Bake Me Treats on Dec. 13, owner Gabriele Barnhizer will bake and donate an equal number of cupcakes to those staying at the rescue mission.

The cupcakes will be delivered to the rescue mission Dec. 20.

Barnhizer said the bakery, which donates its unsold baked goods to the rescue mission, is excited to partner with the organization for the event.

“We’ve been working with the rescue mission for about three years now, and we’re so grateful for this partnership,” Barnhizer said. “We donate our leftovers at the end of the week to them. It is so gratifying knowing that our leftovers are contributing to an organization that helps people and that our treats are going to those in need rather than being wasted.”
