Dean L. Bartles is the newly appointed president and CEO of the National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining, Blairsville, Pa. He replaces Ralph Resnick who will assume a newly created position of vice president of strategy. NCDMM manages America Makes, the additive manufacturing hub based in Youngstown. In announcing Bartles’ appointment, NCDMM said Rob Gorham, executive director of America Makes, is resigning effective May 31. Gorham is quoted in the announcement as stating he is pursuing “other opportunities. I want to assure everyone that America Makes is as strong as ever. The partnerships continue to mature and the progress we are making in the United States additive manufacturing industry amazes me daily.” John Wilczynski, technology director of America Makes, will become acting executive director effective June 1, and NCDMM’s Randy Gilmore, vice president and chief technology office, will take on Wilczynski’s role as acting executive director.
