Batchelor Takes Helm Aug. 1 at Youngstown City Schools
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Youngstown Board of Education has appointed Jeremy Batchelor as the superintendent of Youngstown City School District. Batchelor was previously elevated as the interim superintendent and, prior to that, was the deputy superintendent at YCSD.
He will begin his role Aug 1, replacing Justin Jennings, who resigned in June.
A native of Youngstown, Batchelor has over 26 years in education. He has served in various roles at YCSD for the past six years including principal of East High School, and as chief of staff. His educational background includes a bachelor of arts in social science from John Carroll University and a master’s degree in educational administration from Youngstown State University.
Before his time at YCSD, Batchelor was the assistant superintendent of Austintown Local Schools . He also served in administrative roles for school districts in North Carolina.

My promise is that YCSD will continue providing an environment of educational excellence for our scholars of today and tomorrow.”
