Belmont Business Appreciation Day, Cleanup Planned

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Building a Better Belmont initiative will host the Belmont Blitz Small Business Appreciation Day and Cleanup event Saturday.

The coalition scheduled this month’s event to celebrate small businesses that are buying into the vision for a more vibrant, welcoming Belmont Avenue.

The day will begin with a cleanup from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. along Gypsy Lane from the Ohio-711 Interchange to Belmont Avenue. Volunteers are asked to meet in the Walgreens parking lot, 2560 Belmont Ave. Revitalization and Urban Beautification of Youngstown will be on site with tools and gloves for volunteers.

Anyone interested in volunteering for the cleanup can check the Building a Better Belmont Facebook page for more details.

The main event will be the Belmont Blitz, which will spotlight businesses on Belmont Avenue and show support to those that participated in Building a Better Belmont’s inaugural Bike Belmont event. Each participating business will offer specials available only on the day of the Blitz.

The specials:

  • Charlie Staples BBQ Pit Boss Sports Lounge: $4 off chicken dinner (regularly $14.50), 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Kravitz Delicatessen: Buy two reubens, get a third for $1.93, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
