Bennett Joins U.S. Department of Energy
Shawn Bennett has been named Deputy Assistant Secretary for Oil and Natural Gas in the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Fossil Energy. Bennett will administer oil and gas programs, including research and development, analysis and natural gas regulation. Bennett has more than a decade of experience in public affairs and government relations in the coal and the oil and gas industries. Most recently he served as executive vice president of the Ohio Oil and Gas Association, a nonprofit trade association the represents oil and gas producers. His role at OOGA included overseeing all federal and state legislative and regulatory activities in Columbus and Washington, D.C.
