Blue & White Gala March 31 at Penn State Shenango
SHARON, Pa. – Penn State Shenango will celebrate its 50th anniversary March 31 with a Blue & White Gala. The Penn State University campus has been celebrating the anniversary throughout the academic year, starting with its kickoff celebration last August.
The March 31 event will include remarks by Penn State President Eric Barron and keynote speaker Russell “Russ” Rose, women’s volleyball coach at Penn State. The evening will begin with a reception at 5:30 p.m., including a cash bar, followed by dinner, presentations, a silent auction, and live music from the 1980s cheese band Velveeta.
“This has been a great year for our campus,” said Liz Izenas, co-chairwoman of the Shenango campus’ 50th anniversary celebration. “It’s been a year of reconnecting with alumni and friends, reminiscing about the campus’ changes and renovations, and developing new friendships, collaborations, and programs. Although we will continue to celebrate our 50th throughout the rest of the academic year, this gala event will be the highlight of our spring festivities, and we’re hoping for a large turnout.”
The cost is $50 per person. Reservations will be accepted through March 18 at this website, or by calling 724 983 2905. No tickets will be sold on the day of the event.
