Boardman Glenwood Athletic Director Honored with “Middle School AD of the Year” Award
BOARDMAN, Ohio – Chuck Schiffhauer, athletic director at Boardman Glenwood Junior High, was named Middle School Athletic Director of the Year by the Northeast Ohio Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association.
Schiffauer received his award April 24 at the NEOIAAA annual awards ceremony at the Spire Institute in Geneva.
The award is presented to an association member in recognition of service, leadership and involvement as a grade 7-8 athletic administrator. Recipients are nominated by association members and honorees are selected by the awards committee made up of NEOIAAA executive committee members.
“Chuck is organized and energetic, but most of all he’s passionate about our students, and wants them to be successful as they compete,” says Glenwood Principal Bart Smith. “He finds ways to attract students to find their niche athletically, with the goals of overall health, discipline and teamwork as his focus.”
As the athletic director for the junior high since 2018, Schiffauer is responsible for the organization and scheduling for seven junior high sports, which consist of a total of 18 teams. He has been a physical education teacher at Glenwood since 2009.
