Boardman School Board Hires New Director of Operations

BOARDMAN, Ohio – The Boardman Local School Board voted unanimously June 16 to hire Brian Fonderlin as director of operations and human resources. Fonderlin replaces Matt McKenzie who has resigned effective June 30. Fonderlin’s three-year contract begins July 1.

“Brian Fonderlin comes to us with the best of both worlds: He knows buildings, construction and maintenance – as well as all the rigors of school administration, scheduling and personnel,” says Superintendent Tim Saxton.

In the private sector, Fonderlin owned and managed Fonderlin Restoration Inc. for 16 years. In the education sector, he taught and coached at Jackson Milton Local Schools and most recently was assistant principal at Niles McKinley High School.

“This is a great opportunity for me to serve the community where my children grew up,” he says.  “I am honored to join the Spartan family, and look forward to getting started.”

Fonderlin earned his B.S in education at Youngstown State University and a masters in educational administration from Capella University.

He and his wife, Barb, have lived in Boardman for more than 20 years.  She is a guidance counselor at Boardman Glenwood Junior High.
