Boom Boom Bourbon Wins Double Gold at Competition

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Boom Boom Bourbon Reserve Edition won a Double Gold Medal at the 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition in April.

It’s the second time the signature bourbon of Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini won the prestigious medal. Boom Boom Reserve picked up its first Double Gold at the San Francisco competition in 2021.

A Double Gold is awarded to entries that receive a gold medal rating by all members of the judging panel.

Industry authority Breaking Bourbon praised the 2024 Boom Boom Reserve in its review. “This whiskey is surprisingly layered and nuanced with its maple syrup barrel finish,” wrote Eric Hasman on Breaking Bourbon’s website.

“Bourbon flavor notes of vanilla, caramel and oak pair brilliantly with the maple syrup in this 116 barrel proof.”

The San Francisco World Spirits competition is one of the most influential in the world. It judges spirits across 31 categories.

The largest and second-oldest competition of its type in the world, the San Francisco World Spirits Competition received over 5,500 entries from across the world for its 2024 contest.

The spirits are judged by a panel of 70 industry experts who sample hundreds of entries in each category in blind taste tests.

Boom Boom Bourbon, produced by Cleveland Whiskey, was introduced in 2019 by Youngstown boxing champion Mancini and quickly developed a reputation for exceptional quality.

It is available at retail outlets throughout the Mahoning Valley. For information, go to 1stroundwhiskey.com.
