Boscov’s Opens Next Week with 3-Day Celebration
NILES, Ohio – Boscov’s department store will host a three-day grand opening celebration at its newest store in the Eastwood Mall October 7 through 9.
Oct. 7, Boscov’s – in the former Sears space – will host Charity Day, allowing shoppers who make a $5 donation to participating nonprofits to get into the store early. The first 2,000 customers will also receive a free Asher’s chocolate-covered pretzel.
There will also be live music and entertainment throughout the day and free gifts for all shoppers, as well as sales to celebrate the grand opening.
The next day is the first that Boscov’s will be open to the public, with the store offering day-long specials and free entertainment. The first 5,000 customers will receive a coupon book to local restaurants.
And on Oct. 9, a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. United Way of Trumbull County President Ginny Pasha will join representatives of organizations the nonprofit supports to cut the ribbon. The ceremony also includes a parade of antique cars, local officials and the Niles High School marching band.
Boscov’s is donating $1,000 to the United Way chapter and $100 to the participating organizations, part of its commitment to local agencies throughout its footprint.
Throughout the day, there will be performances by Elvis Aaron Presley Jr. and Jason Lindsey aka “Mr. Science,” before the celebration concludes with fireworks at 9 p.m.
“We’ve created an unforgettable Grand Opening Celebration for the Mahoning and Shenango Valley communities,” said Jim Boscov, chairman and CEO of Boscov’s, in a statement. “You can expect exciting retailing that combines fun, fashion, community partnership, entertainment and service with jaw dropping pricing on a tremendous assortment of products throughout the store.”
