Burgan Real Estate Tops Record Volume of $80M

BOARDMAN, Ohio — New training programs for agents, local partnerships and community involvement helped achieve record sales in 2018 for Burgan Real Estate.

The company enjoyed its eighth consecutive quarter of growth, say co-owners Patrick Burgan and Sue Filipovich. Agents sold 759 units last year for more than $80 million in sales volume, year-over-year increases of 6% and 13%, respectively.

“While the success we experienced in 2018 surpassed even our goals, we are not surprised what our company was able to achieve,” Burgan says. “Sue and I have focused on creating a culture that aims at making everything we are involved in better. We couldn’t have done any of this without the dedication of our Burgan agents and valued partners who have bought in to the difference we can make in the lives of our clients and the community we proudly call home.”

Agents donated time and nearly $20,000 to area nonprofits in 2018, among them the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley Day of Caring, Habitat for Humanity and the Boys and Girls Club of Youngstown, Burgan says.

Last year, 17 agents earned the President’s Sales Club award and Burgan and Filipovich were chosen to take part in the Maestro Leadership Program, which is designed to develop and train the most influential and successful brokers in the country.

Burgan invested in new training for its agents as well as the technology needed to list properties anywhere in the world. And the company invested in a new website and marketing partner with 898 Marketing in Canfield.

Collaborations with Suzie’s Dogs and Drafts, Inner Circle Pizza in Canfield and Branch Street Coffee promoted the Burgan brand with signature drinks and dishes.

A partnership with the Youngstown State University athletics department paid $12,000 toward a fan’s mortgage through the Mortgage Mania Challenge promotion, earning Burgan national recognition.

“The core of every business is changing and we are committed to being on the forefront of new and innovative strategies to help our clients find a better option to listing or buying a home with Burgan Real Estate,” Filipovich says.

“While 2018 was a record-breaking year in our company’s 41-year history, we know that we can be better in 2019 – and we will.”
