Bury Financial Group Achieves 33% Growth
BOARDMAN, Ohio – Bury Financial Group celebrates 30 years in business this year.
Founded by Todd Bury when he was a sophomore at Ohio University, the one-man office has expanded to a full-service financial planning firm with five advisers and five support staff at 7620 Market St. in Boardman.
The firm welcomed Kelcie Schiraldi as financial adviser in 2021, who brings 10 years of experience. She brought from her office Alex Baker, nonregistered assistant.
“The goal for us is not to see how big we can get but rather to see how small we can stay,” says Bury, who remains the firm’s president.
“We choose to work only with clients who are a fit for the culture we have built and ones who we enjoy working with,” he says.
Bury Financial enjoyed a 33% increase in business in 2021 as it increased face-to-face meetings and connected with other clients virtually, Bury says.
With $532 million under management, Bury is the top producing firm in the state of Ohio with SagePoint Financial Inc.
Bury is in the top 1% among nearly 1,500 advisers, while partner and Vice President Brian Laraway advanced to the SagePoint Leaders Council.
Registered representatives Greg Gett and David Maxwell are in the SagePoint Achievers Council.
“Bury Financial Group is focused on long-term planning,” says Laraway.
“We will continue to follow industry and regulatory trends to make sure that our clients are invested appropriately,” Laraway says.
“With increased regulation, there is attrition in the number of financial advisers. Many are retiring and it is becoming increasingly harder to get started independently. Our team
has built a solid foundation to continue to service our clients for years to come.”
In 2021, Bury Financial Group was recognized on the Ohio School Boards Association Business Honor Roll through the Poland Local Schools.
