Butler Museum Celebrates Youth Art Month
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — The Butler Institute of American Art hosted over sixty students from Boardman Glenwood Junior High School to celebrate national youth art month.
Students were given a tour of the museum, participated in a STEAM activity creating small sculptures using aluminum tooling and they applied color theory and used complimentary colors to create collages.
“When we’re able to combine an activity like this for youth art month, it really makes a positive impact on the students,” says Ryan Mistovich, 7th grade art teacher for Boardman Junior High School.
