BWC Names Crosby Claims Services Chief

COLUMBUS – The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation this week named a Cincinnati resident with nearly three decades of workers’ compensation experience as its new chief of claims services.

Shawn Crosby, who joined BWC as a front-line clerk in 1993 and most recently served as Cincinnati claims director, replaces former claims chief Patricia Harris, who was promoted to chief operating officer.

As claims chief, she oversees claims operations and around 500 staff across the state to ensure compliance and consistency in injury management, settlement practices, and customer service. The staff manages approximately 610,000 open claims, including roughly 80,000 new claims each year.

“I really am a person who listens to what people are saying and feeling, it’s important to me,” she said. “I’m a public servant.”

Crosby earned a bachelor and master degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. She and her husband of 23 years, DeAndre’, live in Cincinnati.
