BETHLEHEM, Pa. – C. Tucker Cope & Associates Inc. has obtained AC478 accreditation, the Metal Building Contractors and Erectors Association announced last week.

C. Tucker Cope, based in Columbiana, is the first metal building assembler in Ohio to obtain the accreditation, the association stated in a news release.

The accreditation, which is administered by the International Accreditation Service, is a standard to recognize metal building assemblers that are committed to excellence, the release states.

“We are proud to welcome C. Tucker Cope to the select group of AC478 accredited erectors,” said Jennifer Heimburger, MBCEA president. “Their company’s commitment to quality is underscored by achieving this accreditation. Tucker is part of the MBCEA Accreditation Committee and has been a vocal proponent of the process. He is the type of erector we want to have at the MBCEA, and we congratulate him on this achievement.”

The accreditation demonstrates that C. Tucker Cope has the personnel, the organizational skills, vast experience, knowledge, management procedures and commitment to assemble metal buildings in accordance with code, specifications, costs and deadlines, the release states.

Requirements for the accreditation include documented management systems, rigorous safety training, quality managers, Occupational Safety and Health Administration training, documented safety plans, site-specific plans and other documentation.

“In the ever-changing world of the metal building industry, we feel that our involvement in the MBCEA and achieving our AC478 accreditation will allow us to continue to keep our sights set on a positive future of quality projects and continued growth,” said Tucker Cope, president.
