Cafaro Foundation Awards Record $149K in Scholarships
NILES, Ohio – The Cafaro Foundation on Tuesday announced it has awarded $149,000 in 2024 scholarship grants, a record amount.
The foundation awarded scholarships, ranging from $2,000 to $10,000, to 56 students across eastern Ohio.
The winner of the William M. and Alyce Cafaro Scholarship is Raegan Mitchell.
The winners of John A. Cafaro Scholarships are Kailey Ague, Lenna Atway, Zaid Atway, Samantha Berzonski, Forrest Bowser, Bryce Brown, Camille Brown, Clarisa Brown, Isabella Canzonetta, Christopher Cardiero, Kylie Carpenter, Lisa Casey, Nico Ciminero, Kaelyn Cleevely, Madison Cleevely, Aiden Cole, Nora DePizzo, Mariana Diana, Lillian Ditz, Molly Durkin, Summer Fetters, Channing Fox, Alexis Gonda, Alyson Gonda, Maria Grant, Jason Hammar, Kayla Haynie, Katelyn Heinselman, Quentin Huber, Mia Jones, Thomas Larney, Daniel Lucarell, Mia Malito, Daniel McClelland, Casey McNally, Alyse Murphy, Vivian Nohra, Aubrey Panigall, Casey Peart, Garrett Pinkerton, Sofia Poghen, Ashley Rodgers, Alyssa Rodriguez, Gavin Sedoris, Peytyn Slovesko, Ronnie Swertfager, Aubree Vaughn, Cooper White, Hannah Williams, Kaleigh Williams, Emily Wright and Liliana Zuschin.
Donald P. Pipino Memorial Scholarships were awarded to David Brown, Madison Dado and Stephen Rohan II.
Foundation trustees selected the recipients primarily for their academic merit, while also considering the students’ financial need and the recommendations of teachers and guidance counselors.
Since its inception in 1996, the Cafaro Foundation has awarded more than $24 million in grants to organizations and individuals.
