Cafaro Foundation Gives $100K to United Way
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Cafaro Foundation today announced a $100,000 donation to the United Way of Trumbull County. The gift will support the work of the 22 charities funded by the United Way chapter, according to the announcement
“While there are segments of our local economy that are healthy, many of our Trumbull county neighbors are struggling in one way or another,” said William A. Cafaro in announcing the donation. “It’s important that we, as a community, help to provide a safety net of crucial services for those who need it.”
Not counting the $100,000 gift announced today, since 2000 the Cafaro Foundation has donated more than $53,000 to the United Way’s annual campaigns.
The foundation was established by the Cafaro family in 1996 in memory of its founder, William M. Cafaro. It has awarded millions of dollars to nonprofit organizations and worthy individuals.
Last week the foundation announced a $10,000 gift to the Hubbard Baseball Booster Club. This donation will help fund construction of a batting cage and pitching station adjacent to the new field being built at the high school baseball complex.
