Canfield Bakery Sticks With Family Tradition
CANFIELD, Ohio – Growing up, Kim Hoover was heavily inspired by her grandmother’s baking. At Kim’s Confections, her grandmother’s recipes are a tradition she maintains.
Hoover opened the bakery with her grandmother 10 years ago, working out of her house. It was a career change for her that came after years of working in retail and deciding she wanted to go in a difference direction.
“There’s a lot of history with the recipes,” Hoover says. “My grandma worked with me when we first opened and our sugar bottom brownies are her recipe. She passed away two years ago so we are carrying on her tradition and it’s a little piece of her here.”
