What to Expect from the Canfield Fair

Canfield Fair Livestock Auction, Sale to Benefit Second Harvest

CANFIELD, Ohio – Those attending the 177th Canfield Fair will have an opportunity to purchase livestock to donate to Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley for distribution to families in the Mahoning Valley.

Livestock can be purchased at the Canfield Fair Livestock Auction/Sale in the Canfield Fair Event Center. Bids can be made online through the “Canfield Fairgrounds” app, which is available at Google Play and the Apple Store.

Livestock available to purchase for donation to the food bank includes market beef, hogs, poultry-broilers, ducks, turkeys, goats and lambs.

Here’s the auction/sale schedule:

THURSDAY, AUG. 31

  • 5:30 p.m.: Goat milk fudge, market rabbits, market goats.
  • 7 p.m.: Market lambs, carcass lambs.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 1

  • 4 p.m.: Market poultry-broilers, turkeys, ducks.
  • 7 p.m.: Market beef, market hogs.

Livestock purchased to be donated to the food bank will be processed by Winona Frozen Foods and Lehman Poultry. 

Processing fees will be added to the purchase price (market beef and hogs are 69 cents per pound; lambs and goats are $139 each; broilers are $4 each; ducks are $7.50; and turkeys are $25. Prices are subject to change without notice. MasterCard, Visa, personal checks and cash will be accepted.
