Canfield Surgery Center Closing, Mercy Health Announces

CANFIELD, Ohio – The Mercy Health – Canfield Surgery Center, which opened in July 2021, is closing.

A statement released by Mercy Health reads: “Mercy Health continues to evolve to meet the health and well-being needs of our patients, communities, associates and clinicians. Bon Secours Mercy Health Ambulatory Ventures and Compass Surgical jointly have decided to close the Canfield Surgery Center, effective June 1. Mercy Health is working with patients, physicians and associates to ensure a smooth transition going forward, including working closely with impacted Compass Surgical associates to identify opportunities within Mercy Health and to help them make informed decisions about their professional career.”

The surgical center offers orthopedic, podiatric and plastic surgeries, among others. The clinic opened to give those receiving outpatient surgeries the opportunity to have procedures performed closer to home.

The Canfield Surgery Center reportedly employs 13 people.
