Car Wash Chain Buys Liberty Steakhouse for $500,000

LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Ohio – ModWash, a car wash chain with locations in or planned for nine states,will open a site on Belmont Avenue in Liberty Township on the site of the closed West Fork Roadhouse. 

Hutton Youngstown Belmont OH ST LLC purchased the property at 3850 Belmont Ave. for $500,000 from VT Larney Ltd., a real estate entity affiliated with Alan Friedkin, associate broker at Friedkin Commercial Group. The deal closed Wednesday.

Friedkin said he has ModWash under contract and is going to close soon on the Austintown Skate Zone building and is working with the company on additional sites. 

Founded in 2020, ModWash is an express car wash chain headquartered in Chattanooga, Tenn., according to its LinkedIn page. 

The company’s website identifies the Belmont and Mahoning avenue locations as among five planned openings for Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties this year or in 2022. 

In addition to the Belmont Avenue and Mahoning Avenue car washes, the site lists unspecified locations on Boardman-Poland Road in Boardman, and in Warren and Salem. 

The site also identifies a car was at 2945 E. State St. in Hermitage, Pa., the site of a closed Perkins Restaurant & Bakery.

The express car wash chain is “expanding rapidly through strategic development and acquisitions,” with a projected 100 openings by the end of 2023, according to the website.
