BC3 (Butler Community College) offers a variety of associate degree, certificate and transfer programs, the latter of which allow transfer of credits to many public, private and online four-year colleges and universities. Students and alumni may utilize free career services such a career exploration and preparation. PIA, headquartered in Pittsburgh, has three branch campuses including in Vienna. Ranked the No. 1 top two-year trade school in 2018 by Forbes, the school’s specialized Aviation Maintenance Technology and Aviation Electronics Technology programs provide hands-on skill sets based on aviation industry practices that are transferable to diverse related occupations. In 2017, all PIA campuses were selected by Delta Airlines as partner schools. Graduates of the Youngstown campus are qualified for Federal Aviation Administration Airframe & Powerplant certification. The Career Services Department provides regular one-on-one meetings with a counselor and focuses on job opportunities, on-campus recruiting, resume writing, interview skills and more. The school, which has held 122 classes since 1957, offers both full- and part-time programs, both of which prepare graduates to sit for the NCLEX-PN licensing exam. This license can be transferred to any state. The full-time program is 44 weeks in length over 100 months, with classes starting every March and September. The part-time program is 88 weeks in length over 23 months (16 hours per week over three days), with classes starting in March depending on demand. Massage therapy is one of the fastest growing industries in the health-care field and offers a flexible career that earns a good income. Career opportunities include cruise ships, chiropractic offices, nursing homes and retirement centers, sports medicine clinics, hospitals, ski resorts, private practice and more. For the 2019 graduating class, the school reports a 100% employment placement rate in a profession related to the massotherapy field as well as a 100% pass rate for the Ohio State Massotherapy licensing exam. The curriculum includes courses in massage theory and practicum as well as courses in anatomy and physiology.
