Carr Joins Akron Children’s as VP of Supply Chain
AKRON, Ohio – Joseph A. Carr has joined Akron Children’s as the vice president of supply chain.
“Joseph brings both a clinical and operations background to Akron Children’s along with being an experienced supply chain executive for both non-profit and for-profit organizations,” says Gordan Edwards, chief financial officer at Akron Children’s. “Supply chain is his vocational calling, and Joseph has a deep passion and commitment to our mission of improving the health of children.”
Before joining Akron Children’s, Carr served as the assistant vice president of supply chain at Orlando Health, where he managed supply chain operations across 171 hospitals. He previously held supply chain roles at Gartner Top 25 ranked Mayo Clinic, Ascension and Advent Health.
Carr brings more than 15 years of experience in health care supply chain management, operations and strategic sourcing. He holds certifications in Lean Six Sigma and project management. He earned a B.S. in nursing from Remington College, a B.S. degree in management information systems from Columbia College and an MBA degree from the University of Miami.
Carr, along with his wife and four children, lives in Broadview Heights.
