CCPA Approves Traina’s Stay as Executive Director
EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio – The board of the Columbiana County Port Authority has approved the annual contract of its executive director, Penny Traina, to expire at its end March 9. A new contract for Traina, renewing her position as executive director indefinitely, will fall under the port authority’s employee handbook as an at-will employee effective the same date.
“There is no need to ratify her contract every year with the new employee handbook,” said chairman of the board Charlie Presley at the port authority’s meeting Monday night. “It gets our employees under one employee handbook and it stops us from having to administratively renew a contract every year.”
Traina is coming up on two years in March as the executive director and CEO of the Columbiana County Port Authority.
“Penny has done a great job and we anticipate a long relationship,” Presley added.
The only changes to her contract include an annual salary raise from $95,000 to $100,000, marking the first time she has received a raise since taking the position.
Other benefits from her existing contract are in line with the employee handbook, but will include her health insurance and keeping her 20 vacation days per year.
“I truly appreciate the confidence the board has with me and I look forward to working with all of you and moving Columbiana County forward,” Traina told board members.
Traina remains focused on marketing the port authority and helping to better assist businesses in Columbiana County and the region.
