CFMV’s Giving Tuesday and Beyond Campaign Returns

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – As part of its annual Giving Tuesday and Beyond campaign, the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley is again offering local nonprofits a share of $50,000, but with a new addition to encourage giving regardless of the size of the donation.

Starting Nov. 27 and running through the end of the year, all donations made to any of the agency funds at the Community Foundation will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $2,000 per fund. At the end of the campaign, any remaining funds in the $50,000 allotment will be divided between all nonprofits that received a donation.

New to the campaign this year is Boost Week – the first week of the campaign, Nov. 27-Dec. 3 – in which the Community Foundation will give each participating nonprofit an extra $100 for every unique donor who gives to their fund.

“The support from the community and our agency fundholders for past Giving Tuesday campaigns has been great, and we’re excited to bring it back for a third year,” said Shari Harrell, Community Foundation president. “We’re especially excited for the addition of Boost Week. Part of what makes Giving Tuesday great is that it’s driven by everyday people who just want to give back to their community. With Boost Week, we want to support Valley residents who are giving whatever they can to make our community better.”

Last year’s campaign brought in just under $31,000 in donations and $15,061 in matching dollars to 18 agency funds, a news release states. With the remaining pool of CFMV matching funds, each organization that got at least one donation received an additional $1,895.

Donations can be made online HERE or by mailing a check to the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley, 201 E. Commerce St. Suite 150, Youngstown, OH 44503, with the agency fund’s name in the memo line.
