Chamber, Farm Bureaus to Host ‘Friends and Farmers’ Dinner
CORTLAND, Ohio — A “Friends and Farmers” dinner Sept. 25 at the Ridge Crest Equestrian Center will showcase the growing agriculture industry in Trumbull and Mahoning counties.
The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber and farm bureaus of both counties are the sponsors.
Trumbull County is home to 888 farms, Mahoning County 578, of the more than 8,000 in northeastern Ohio, chamber officials say.
Adam Sharp, vice president of public policy at the Ohio Farm Bureau, will address issues common to the farming and business communities. The fare consists of turkey, pork and lamb — purchased from 4-H’ers at the Trumbull County Fair in July — and locally grown potatoes, vegetables and salad, prepared by McKenzie’s Catering. Greene Eagle, Country Porch and Hartford Hill wineries will provide beverages. The desserts will feature apples grown at the Hartford Orchard.
Tickets are $50. For reservations, call Amy Young at 330 744 2131, ext. 12.
