Chamber Receives $5K from Farmers Foundation
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber has received a $5,000 donation from The Farmers Charitable Foundation to support its economic development initiatives.
Among the initiatives operated by the Regional Chamber are JobsNow workforce development program and the Eastern Ohio Military Affairs Commission, which advocates on behalf of Youngstown Air Reserve Station and Camp James A. Garfield in Ravenna.
“With support from local companies like Farmers Trust, we continue to stabilize the local economy,” said Regional Chamber Foundation President Guy Coviello in a statement. “Our team is creating 1,000 new jobs at the TJX HomeGoods Distribution Center, helping many local companies fill their workforce needs, and growing the footprint at the Youngstown Air Reserve Station, which is the Valley’s third-largest employer.”
Thus far in 2019, the programs supported by the Regional Chamber Foundation have resulted in nine new projects generating more than $200 million in investment, 1,121 new jobs and 274 retained jobs. There are also 17 pending projects with a total of $1.4 billion in investment.
