Chamber Reveals Winners of Salute to Business Awards
YOUNGSTOWN – The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will honor eight Valley residents at its annual Salute to Business event. The recipients will receive their awards at a Sept. 1 banquet at the Eastwood Events Centre in Eastwood Mall in Niles.
The keynote speaker will be General Michael Brogan, who retired from the U.S. Marine Corps in 2011 after serving for 31 years.
This year’s Salute to Business award winners are:
- Business Professional of the Year: Traci Miller, president of Color3 Embroidery Inc., Warren.
- Business Advocate of the Year: Vern Richberg, director of supply chain diversity, Youngstown Minority Business Assistance Center.
- Nonprofit Professional of the Year: Jeff Magada, founder and director, Flying High Inc.
- Entrepreneurs of the Year: Aspasia Lyras-Bernacki and Richard Bernacki, co-owners, Penguin City Brewing Co., Youngstown.
- Small Business Professionals of the Year: Ron and Cecilia Bolar, co-owners of Nothing Bundt Cakes, Boardman.
- Salute to Labor Achievement Award: Nancy Weibel, business manager, Roofers Local 71.
Tickets to the Salute to Business event are $40 for Chamber members, and $50 for nonmembers.
Keynote speaker Gen. Brogan’s primary responsibility was to oversee the supply chain to American forces in the Middle East. He is one of the U.S. military’s foremost authorities on equipment procurement and supply chain management.
