Chamber Says ‘Shop Shenango Valley’ on Saturday
HERMITAGE, Pa. — For Shop Shenango Valley Day Dec. 5, the Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce encourages shoppers to come for the local retail, stay for the fireworks.
After supporting local retail businesses in the Shenango Valley, residents will be treated to a fireworks display at 6 p.m. over Avenue of the 444 Flags, according to a release.
“We want to support our business community,” said Gary Hinkson, manager of the City of Hermitage. “We hope this encourages people to come out and shop, enjoy the fireworks and then get dinner locally and drive through Buhl Park to enjoy the holiday lights.”
Additional holiday entertainment includes Kraynak’s ChristmasLane, 2525 E. State St., Hermitage, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; a wide variety of sales and specials at the Shenango Valley area shops and restaurants; and a drive-thru holiday lights display in Buhl Park starting at 5 p.m.
The event is part of Shenango Valley Shop Around, a holiday giveaway event where Valley businesses offer giveaways through Dec. 23. The gift giveaway already includes $3,500 in prizes and continues to increase, according to a release.
Some of the prizes include a $500 Business Stationary Package at Minuteman Press in Hermitage, a $100 gift card to Buhl Mansion in Sharon, a foursome with golf cart at Tam O’Shanter in Hermitage (valued at $165), four local retail gift cards at Waterstone Mortgage in Hermitage and three $100 gift cards at Reyers Shoe Store in Sharon. The chamber has set a $10,000 goal for the Shop Around event. Businesses interested in participating can fill out the form by clicking HERE.
“The city of Hermitage contacted the chamber with this great idea that can tout the Hermitage and Shenango Valley business community especially during this challenging time,” said Sherris Moreira, executive director of the Shenango Valley Chamber. “This is such a great idea to help support our local businesses for the holidays. And visitors can also sign up to win prizes in many of our shops too!”
