Children’s Rehab Annual Jelly Bean Sale Begins

WARREN, Ohio – More than 20,000 bags of jelly beans are being bagged and delivered this week as the the Northeastern Ohio Children’s Rehabilitation Center’s annual Jelly Bean Jamboree gets underway.

The event has been held for more than 40 years. Sales will continue throughout the month of March.

“Our staff and volunteers will package 7 tons of beans for distribution this season,” says the nonprofit center’s executive director, Michael Crogan Jr. “It’s a long process, but it’s worth it.”

Each bag sells for $2 and the revenue generated supports the physical, occupational and speech therapy programs for children with movement issues, cognitive or sensory issues, or problems with verbal communication.

Nearly 100 local businesses are part of the campaign’s distribution network throughout Trumbull and Mahoning counties, Crogan says.

“We would love to hear from any business that’s interested in becoming a sales location,” he adds.

Companies that would like to take part in the campaign by selling jelly beans at their operations should call 330 856 2107.

A list of distribution sites is posted at the NEOCRC Facebook page.
