Choffin Students Create Brands for Shark Tank Event

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Choffin Career & Technical Center finished the academic year with a “Shark Tank”-style event for juniors and seniors in its business entrepreneurship program.

Students were paired with Michael Pontikos, owner of Sokitnop Design and senior lecturer in the management-marketing department at Youngstown State University. He acted as the creative director for student logos in the “Shark Tank” project.

Pontikos says he worked with the students as if they were real clients.

“I didn’t treat them like high school students,” Pontikos says. “They were going to get tough questions and thought-provoking questions as far as how they wanted their brand to look.”
