Choffin Students Help Clean Up Campus
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Choffin Career & Technical Center juniors and seniors partnered with Youngstown CityScape to clean up around their campus, nearby parking lots and along the hillside that connects the campus to downtown Youngstown.
The bigger picture of the cleanup is to apply for the Career and Technical Education Expansion grant and renovate the horticulture building on campus, according to Michael Saville, director of Choffin Career & Technical Center.
“We’re looking to renovate this to be kind of a community impact,” Saville says. “We want to grow food here, we want to create food here with our culinary program and we also want to integrate entrepreneurship into our business programs to have a bigger impact on the community.”
