Choffin YouMed Academy Expands Health Care Training
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Choffin Career & Technical Center celebrated their new YouMed Academy by holding a ribbon cutting ceremony on the newly renovated fourth floor.
The YouMed Academy houses the following career programs offered to high school scholars within the Youngstown City School District:
-Medical & Allied Health
-Dental Technology & Radiography
-Medical Office & Business Management
-Physical Therapy & Athletic Training
-Fitness Training: Health & Wellness
“Between the pandemic hitting the industry pretty hard and the areas that we just weren’t covering, we wanted to make sure that we provided an opportunity with every one of our scholars to hit every niche and area of in demand [health care work] in Youngstown, the region and even nationwide,” says Dr. Michael Saville, director of Choffin Career & Technical Center.
