Cincinnati Company Purchases Salem Nursing Homes for $6.3M

SALEM, Ohio – CommuniCare Family of Companies, a Cincinnati area-based health care organization with locations in seven states, has purchased two nursing home complexes for a combined $6.3 million, records show.

According to the Columbiana County Auditor’s office, CommuniCare purchased the Salem North and Salem West nursing facilities at 250 Continental Drive and 2511 Bentley Drive March 26.

The purchase on Continental Drive consists of two buildings: the Salem North Healthcare Center that sold for $2.152 million and another building that sold for $1.770 million. The buildings were sold to Salem N Asset Ownership LLC and Great North Real Estate II LLC respectively.

The Salem West Healthcare Center on Bentley sold for $2.283 million to Salem W Asset Ownership LLC, according to auditor’s records.

All three properties provide the address of 4700 Ashwood Drive, the corporate address of CommuniCare, based in Blue Ash, Ohio.

According to the company website, CommuniCare now operates six health care centers in the region: Addison Healthcare Center in Masury, Austintown Healthcare Center in Austintown, Canfield Healthcare Center in Canfield, Greenbrier Center in Boardman, and the two Salem centers.

CommuniCare operates 86 centers in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Missouri, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia and Indiana.
