3 Minutes With: City of Warren Holds Peaceful Protest

As rumors on social media spread of outside protesters being transported into the city of Warren, local law enforcement took precautions to block the entrance to the Elmhurst Holdings Plaza on Elm road in order to keep the peace.

At 6 p.m. about 500 people gathered at Perkins Park in Warren to protest police brutality. The group quickly grew to well over 1,000 as demonstrators began their march towards the downtown square.

“I’m so proud of my city. We are Warren strong and we proved that tonight,” says protest organizer, Ty’onna Powell. “We can come together and we can do the imaginable.”
