Clarett Manages Office for ‘Black Ravens’ Navy Squadron
U.S. Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Shannon Clarett, a 2002 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, now serves with the “Black Ravens” of Electronic Attack Squadron 135, working with the Navy’s premier electronic attack aircraft at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Wash. “I’m responsible for administrative duties and managing a central office that is the hub of the command,” she says of her duties. Clarett joined the Navy 17 years ago. In 2018, she graduated from Ohio Christian University with a master’s degree in health care management and human resources management. She credits her success in the Navy to many of the lessons learned in Youngstown. “My hometown taught me how to work hard, hustle for what I want in life when it comes to the betterment of myself, and how to help others, especially in their time of need,” Clarett says.
