Columbiana Chamber Awards $250 Shop Local Prize
COLUMBIANA, Ohio — Jamie Chuey, a resident of New Springfield is the winner of the “Shop Small, Win Big” contest sponsored by the Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce.
Chuey shopped local during the week of Nov. 16-25 and by spending a minimum of $5 at 15 or more merchants, she completed her passport shopping book and was entered into the drawing for the $250 cash prize.
The contest is an effort to promoted the Shop Small, Shop Local campaign created by American Express, says April Brinker, executive director of the chamber.
“Small towns can survive difficult downturns in the economy with a thriving local business center,” she says. “Shopping local keeps your neighborhoods safe and beautiful and stabilizes home values. Getting in the mindset of shopping and doing business local first is all it takes to start improving your community.”
