Columbiana CIC Honors Longtime Board President

LISBON, Ohio — The Columbiana County Community Improvement Corporation recently celebrated the service of former Board President Ed Tkatch.

Ed move to Salem in 1971 and worked in trailer sales. As a sales manager and warehouse manager, he sought funding for a larger facility to meet the needs of their rapidly growing sales.

In part of that process, Tkatch approached the relatively new Columbiana County CIC for help with a bond issuance. Although the bond issue did not move forward because of macroeconomic changes, Tkatch was asked to serve on the board of the CIC. Shortly thereafter, he was appointed president.

Tkatch recently stepped down as president after serving 40 years in that position. He remains on the board and is still dedicated to the economic development of Columbiana County.
