Comcast Employees to Volunteer at Cascade Park Pool
NEW CASTLE, Pa. – Comcast NBCUniversal employees, friends and community partners will celebrate the 16th annual Comcast Cares Day April 22 by volunteering to improve the Cascade Park Pool.
This year, Comcast expects more than 100,000 volunteers to participate in 900 projects across the country and around the world. To date, volunteers have contributed nearly five million volunteer hours at 7,700 projects since Comcast Cares Day began in 2001, the company said.
“It’s truly amazing what’s possible when so many volunteers donate their time to make a difference in the lives of others” said Christine Whitaker, senior vice president of Comcast’s Keystone Region in a news release.
Last year volunteers raised more than $2,100 to renovate the swimming pool. Comcast will make a donation this year based on the number of volunteers donating their time on Comcast Cares Day.
The Comcast Foundation will also provide a grant to support the goals and mission of United Way of Lawrence County in the renovation of the Cascade Park Pool.
Breakfast and cleaning supplies will be provided to volunteers.
To volunteer go to the United Way of Lawrence County website or call the office at 724 658 8528.
