Community Foundation Hosts Giving Event to Meet Increased Need
SHARON, Pa. — In effort to accommodate increased need for funding when traditional fundraising events are not permitted, the Community Foundation of Western PA & Eastern OH is hosting a virtual giving event the week of July 25.
During the PA OH Gives event, any donation made to a participating charity will be matched by the organization, according to a press release. Thus far, more than $100,000 has been committed by the Meszaros Family Foundation, FNB Community Foundation, Zekelman Fund and the Winner Foundation to match donations received by the community.
“The Community Foundation of Western PA & Eastern OH is incredibly proud of the amazing work and dedication that is displayed on a daily basis by the many charitable organizations throughout our region,” the organization states in the release. “At no time has this hard work been more evident than over the past few months of the crisis that was brought about by the COVID-19 virus.”
Organizations can apply at PaOhGives.org. The deadline to submit an application is July 1.
Each organization will have its own profile on the website that will help in promoting their different programs, and how donations received from the community will be utilized. All of donated proceeds, plus the matching dollars, will be distributed to the different organizations.
The event runs from July 25 to July 31.
