Johnson Says YSU Presidency ‘Fits My Sense of Service’
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Youngstown State University Board of Trustees voted 8-1 to offer a contract to U.S. Rep. Bill Johnson, R-6th, to serve as the next president of the university.
Johnson is scheduled to begin at YSU on March 15 and will resign from Congress before that date.
“It’s been a huge honor to be considered and offered this position,” Johnson said. “It fits with my sense of service – and I see that opportunity for service here at YSU.”
